Installing the Advisor program Version 7.0.2

Please print these instructions before installing the program.

The program will automatically select the correct download procedure for the relevant Windows application (95/98/NT/2000/XP or Vista). It is recommended to get the program loaded on your PC by an IT specialist.

Password for Advisor program

For downloading the Advisor program, a password is required, which can be obtained with a license agreement from Shell Global Solutions International BV. (See Contacts and sales on the Website).

NEW E-SPIR 2000 USERS

Installation on a PC.

After clicking on the E-SPIR 2000 Advisor program download button instructions will pop up, whereby you will be requested to select a temporary directory for downloading the program. After the download is completed, you will have to search for this temporary folder.  Or go to Explorer, Tools and Find, select Files or Folders. Type: Advisor_Final.exe and click on Search Now.  After the search has been done, double click on Advisor_Final.exe. The system will set up a directory: C:\Program Files\E-SPIR 2000 Advisor V702 to install the program.

After installation, copy the subfolder E-SPIR DataAdvisorSPIRs from the E-SPIR 2000 Advisor V702 directory to: either Apps, My Documents or Server (see network environment below).

How to start working?

Go to your "Start" button, select Advisor or go to your Program files > E-SPIR 2000 Advisor V702 and double click on E_SPIR_A_702.exe.
The program will start, go to Menu bar, select File. A selection box appears to locate the database.  Search for the copied folder DataAdvisorSPIRs in Apps, My Documents or the Server, open DataAdvisorSPIRs and double click on E-SPIR_A.mdb.
Once you have opened the database the program will remember the location of the database.
To start working in the program first print the Advisor Project Guide from the Website.

Network environment

The E-SPIR 2000 program can also be used as a multi-user application on a PC network. The Set-up procedure in a network should be as follows:
Do not install the E-SPIR 2000 program on the server, but on each individual PC from where the E-SPIR program will be used. Then, copy the folder DataAdvisorSPIRs of one of the PC's from the C:\Program files\E-SPIR 2000 Advisor V702 to a directory on the server. All users must have read and write access to that directory. All PC's should be set to that specific database file.

EXISTING E-SPIR 2000 USERS

Convert data from a previous to version 7.0.2 in the Advisor program.

Download the program as stated above under NEW E-SPIR 2000 USERS, Installation on a PC. If the system requests you to de-install the previous version 7.0.0 you can confirm this without losing .mdb files.

Copy the old E_SPIR_A.mdb file in which you have been working before from the previous version E-SPIR 2000 data folder to the latest copied DataAdvisorSPIRs folder in Apps, My Documents or Server.

When you start up the program by double clicking on E_SPIR_A_702.exe, it will request you to enter Company details. Ignore this message and close the screen.

Go to the E-SPIR Menu bar and select File. A selection box appears to locate the database. Search for the copied folder DataAdvisorSPIRs in Apps, My Documents, or Server, open DataAdvisorSPIRs and double click on E-SPIR_A.mdb. The program will automatically convert the data from the previous version to the latest version.

If your V7 program works fine after installation and extensive testing, we recommend de-installing the previous E-SPIR 2000 version program after 1 or 2 weeks.

CURRENCY TABLE CHANGE

Refer to Paragraph 9.18 of the project Guide for Updating the Currencies in the Advisor program.
